Broccoli Sprouting Seed Health Benefits
Broccoli sprouts are regarded as a nutritional phenomenon and are one of the most popular seed types for sprout and microgreen growers.
Broccoli sprouts are especially popular for their high levels of glucoraphanin, a compound which the body converts into sulforaphane. There has been growing evidence linking sulforaphane to a range of health benefits.
Raw vegetables produce higher levels of sulforaphane than cooked vegetables, which makes broccoli sprouts such a popular choice for maximum sulforaphane intake over vegetables such as broccoli.
Broccoli sprouts contain very high levels of vitamin C, an excellent immune booster and a source of antioxidants. They also contain high levels of vitamin A, calcium and iron.

Just increasing my subscription for these as I’m getting through them fast…they are great! I find 3 tablespoons is the perfect amount to add to a 1L sprouting jar – I have 2 on the go at once and harvest 2 days worth on the 4th or 5th day, then after very thorough jar washing I refill with another 3TBS which have been soaking overnight. At this point the 2nd jar is 2 days into sprouting and ready for harvesting 2/3 days later. With this routine 1kg of seeds is lasting around 10 weeks.
