Okay, full disclosure, we love Sunflower! Highly underrated in our opinion, it has all the benefits of sunflower seeds, (rich in omegas, beneficial oils, fatty acids) but super-concentrated due to being sprouted. These babies are also a mega protein hit. We use them in delicious tomato pasta sauces, whizz them up into a fine powder and chuck them in to salad dressings, make Sunflower Falafels and add them to smoothies. Good for raw breads, pates, muesli, the list goes on. Nutty and delicious, they’re the perfect snack all on their own.

Have a question?
Hello! Can I sprout sunflower seeds in my biosnacky jar or do they need to be grown like microgreens in soil? If I can sprout them in a jar, how do I know when they’re ready to eat? Thank you
Hi Becky 🙂
Yes you can sprout the sunflower seeds in your bio snacky jar. I recommend a minimum sprouting time of 24 hours and maximum 72 (we grow ours for 48 hours). You should see them sprout a little tail and that’s a good indication that they are sprouted and ready to eat 🙂
How long are you meant to soak sunflower seeds at the start .? I looked on your site and couldn’t find any info on soaking times . Initially I soaked them for about 1.5 hours but the subsequent growing of them failed. Thanks
Your soak time should actually be more around 8 – 12 hours.
Hope this helps. Please let me know how you get on either way. If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
How long can I store the seeds for before planting? Planting at 100g at a time, 1 kg would last me 2 months.
what is the country of origin please?
Hi Anna, that would be China.
